Why I Design the Way I Do

Why I Design the Way I Do

Little Tienda grew from a desire to slow down and dress with intention. Before founding the brand, I worked in marketing and corporate HR, but becoming a mother (eventually of four) shifted my perspective entirely. During my years at home with my children, I found myself craving a more values-led way of living. One that felt considered, meaningful and connected.

Travel has always been a source of inspiration for me. Along the way, I began collecting artisan-crafted pieces from around the world, drawn to the beauty of traditional techniques and the quiet story held in handmade goods. That appreciation sits at the heart of everything I design. In 2012, when I had three kids under three, I decided to start this glorious business, bringing my love of artisan craft and my need to remain a stay at home mum together.

Comfort is always my starting point when I design. I believe clothing should move with your body, soften with wear and support you through the rhythms of everyday life. My pieces are designed to be lived in, practical yet beautiful, allowing you to feel well dressed even on the most ordinary days. I love the impact a gorgeous bold frock can add to your everyday. As a frock lover, nothing is more comfortable to me.

Little Tienda is rooted in slow fashion. I work with exclusive textiles and artisan makers, embracing perfection in imperfection. The subtle variations in each piece are intentional, celebrating individuality and the hands that created them. No two garments are exactly the same, and that’s exactly how I want it.

Above all, I design for women who want to feel uniquely themselves. Even in the midst of motherhood, work and life’s constant motion, I believe what we wear can offer ease, confidence, and a quiet sense of self — clothing that feels like you, not something you have to fit into.
