Sandwich Club | Emily Alexandrea
Welcome to Episode 4 of Sandwich Club - Fashion, friends & very good sandwiches, for the creatively hungry.
In this episode, an icon of maximalist style Emily Alexandrea welcomed us in to her incredible Melbourne apartment.

A real treasure hunter of colour and vintage, Em's home is a true feast for the eyes. It was a total delight for us to join her and watch her create her famous BLT.

Ingredients: ● Streaky Bacon (look you can do another cut.. but it won’t taste as good) ● Tomato ● Lettuce ● Mayonnaise (Hellmans, or Best Foods ONLY. Mayo is essential to making this sandwich good) ● Garlic clove ● Bread roll (ideally a turkish roll, but we won’t discriminate on your bread selection)

How to make:
- Cook your bacon on a tray, in the oven (ideally 160 degrees). Your bacon won’t curl, and it’ll have a good snap to it. If your bacon isn’t crispy, you’re eating ham (sorry)
- Slice your veg, finely! We want very thin shreds of lettuce, and thinly sliced tomatoes and sprinkle salt & pepper across the lettuce & tomatoes.
- Cut your bread open, and cut toast it on a hot pan with some oil.
- Once toasty, run the garlic clove all over your toasted bread (this is essential, don’t skip!) - Slather both sides of your toasted roll with mayo, don’t skimp!
- Add your bacon, then your tomato, and then lettuce, another sprinkle of salt and WALAAAAH you’re done.
- Best service with kettle crisps, and a crispy cold diet coke (obviously)
